The two-stage vacuum pump, to evacuate a vessel rapidly to extract air or process gases, has a rotary piston pump (1) and a screw pump (2) behind each other. To start pumping with both pumps, the rotary piston pump is cooled, by a cold gas through a feed channel (12) with a cooler (13) into the outlet of the rotary piston pump.

Um einen Behälter rasch evakuieren zu können, ist ein zweistufiges Pumpensystem bestehend aus einer Drehkolbenpumpe (1) und einer Schraubenpumpe (2) vorgesehen, die hintereinander geschaltet sind. Um von Anfang an mit beiden Pumpen arbeiten zu können, ist eine Kühlung der Drehkolbenpumpe (1) vorgesehen. Dies geschieht dadurch, dass über eine Zuleitung (12) gekühltes Gas in den Auslass (35) der Drehkolbenpumpe (1) eingeleitet wird. <IMAGE>
