[origin: WO0193963A1] The invention relates to a system (100) consisting of a ski binding, especially a cross-country binding or telemark binding, and a ski boot (101) adapted thereto and comprising a sole (103). The inventive system is provided on the binding side with a first engagement element (113) and on the boot side with a second engagement element (107) in the area of the front end of the sole. These engagement elements engage with each other when the system is used and maintain the ski boot in a permanent linear contact or surface contact with a ski or with a binding plate (111) fastened on the ski. The bottom side of the sole is longitudinally arched in its front area and the first and second engagement elements are adapted to match each other in such a manner that the sole performs a rolling off movement while longitudinally shifting the contact line or surface on the ski or the binding plate when the rear end of the sole is lifted or lowered and while performing a lowering or lifting movement of the front end contrary to the movement of the rear end.
