[origin: WO0197992A1] The invention relates to a straightening machine for straightening sections such as rolled beams. Said machine comprises several tools (11) arranged above and below the alignment line in the direction of transport of the object to be straightened, on parallel, driven straightening shafts (8, 9; 21a; 22a, 22b). The upper straightening shafts (2a, 21b) can be preferably positioned in order to adjust the straightening slot. The straightening shafts (2a, 21a, b) can be positioned individually, both sides of each shaft having positioning means (6, 7; 23a, 23b) which engage with the ends of the straightening shafts. During the straightening process, at least the positioning means (6; 23a) on the control side, which lie at a distance from the drive side (I), are impinged by a force (FA) that opposes the straightening force (FR).
