Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0200990A2] The invention relates to a method for drying damp material (2), whereby the above is treated in a treatment chamber (15) of a drying cabinet (1) in a mechanically immobile condition. Air (10) is directed through the treatment chamber (15) and over a condenser (13) and moisture in the air (10) condenses on the condenser (13) and can be led away. The air (10), at least during a period of the drying of the material (2), is circulated in a closed loop through the treatment chamber (15) over the material (2) for drying. Said material (2), with an increasing temperature within the treatment chamber (15), is exposed to steam or increased humidity, generated at least partly from the dampness of the material (2), circulating around with the air (10) and by means of said steam or increased humidity the material (2) is, in relation to folds and creases or similar, allowed to relax and smoothed by the preceding steps and after the beginning of the condensation is dried free of creases and folds and without ironing. The invention further relates to a drying cabinet (1) for the drying of damp materials (2), which are treated in a mechanically immobile condition in a treatment chamber (15) thereof, whereby flaps are provided to switch between closed and open circulation, which permits an introduction and exhausting of external air.
