[origin: EP1296038A2] The closure cover for insertion in and closure of installation holes in gear or engine housings has an arched cover base and side wall crossways to it, running along its periphery. The facing sides of the cover base and side wall limit an inner space. The side wall due to deformation of the closure cover locates with pressure on the inner wall of the hole. In the undeformed state of the closure cover (1), the cover base is arched into the inner space and the outer dimensions of the side wall (5) are at most equal to the inner dimensions of the hole (14). The cover base and the side wall are plastically deformable outwards so that the arching of the cover base is reducible and at the same time the periphery (4) of the cover base and at least the connecting area of the side wall are widenable to the extent that in the inserted state of the closure cover the side wall can be located with pressure on the inner walling (18) of the hole.
