[origin: WO0197651A1] A backpack (1) has a flexible and forward-directed back panel (9) and a rigid shell means (2) in the shape of a trough or bowl. The shell means (2) is along its periphery (10) attached to the back panel (9) and extends backwards therefrom, so that the shell means (2) and the back panel (9) together enclose a compartment (4), which has a front wall comprised by the back panel (9). The shell means (2) forms along its periphery (10) a support surface (11) facing the back panel (9). Said surface comprises at least two support areas (12) arranged on opposite sides of the compartment (4).
