[origin: US2003160071A1] The invention relates to an adapter (20) for a manually operated dispensing device (120) for a fluid that is/can be pressurized in a container. Said dispensing device comprises: a tubular adapter housing (34) that comprises a connecting conduit between the uptake tube and the through channel of the housing of the dispensing device, whereby the adapter housing has a respective connecting sleeve (42) for the connecting nipple of said housing and an uptake tube sleeve (44) for the uptake tube; several inlets (46) for the fluid in the substantially reversed position of the container in relation to the dispensing device, whereby the adapter housing forms at least one section of said inlets; an inlet valve (48) within the adapter housing for releasing the inlets substantially simultaneously when a pressure acts on the fluid in the container in the substantially reversed position of the container; a shut-off valve (50) that is positioned inside a valve chamber (52) of the adapter housing, in such a way that it can be freely displaced in an axial manner between two end positions and a valve chamber (52) with a diameter that is greater than the diameter of the shut-off valve.
