[origin: WO0200986A1] A sealing device (1) is provided between a porthole-shaped viewing glass (4) on a loading door (2) and a housing wall on washing machines or washer-dryers, with a one-piece essentially annular sealing collar (3). The viewing glass (4) comprises an edge section (12), running essentially parallel to the plane of the loading door. The sealing device (1) comprises a head section (6) on the ends (14) thereof facing the viewing glass (4), which is supported on an edge section (20) of the housing wall (6) which defines the door opening (5), by means of a projection (18). Furthermore said projection comprises a narrow, essentially annular sealing lip (2), which presses in a sealing manner against the edge section (12) of the viewing glass (4) in an axial direction when the loading door (2) is shut.
