[origin: WO0199059A1] The invention relates to a device for working sheet-like material, in particular banknotes, bonds and similar. According to the invention, said device is provided with an automatic return feed for the sheet-like material to a second, or subsequent check, whereby an operator of the device is relieved of work. Said relief is obtained by a reduction in the rate of ambiguous samples, or in the total amount of sheet-like material requiring manual processing, as faults occurring at the time of a first or previous check, or erroneous operating conditions are normally no longer current or are of a different form at the time of a second check of the sheet-like material. The precise checking and arrangement of the sheet-like material is thus possible at the second or subsequent check.
