Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1298232A1] Process for improving smaller surface damage in large pressing plate or an endless strip made from sheet steel having structured surface comprises micro-galvanizing damaged surface using iron-containing electrolyte solution containing metal ions to form coating of iron, nickel and/or chromium ions. Mixing ratio of metal ions in solution is based on base material of pressing plate or endless strip. <??>An Independent claim is also included for a micro-galvanizing device for carrying out the above process. <??>Preferred Features: The electrolyte solution contains iron (II) (Fe<2+>) and iron (III) (Fe<3+>) in a ratio of 2: 1. The damaged surface is treated using an electrode. After structuring, a repair process is carried out involving etching and mechanical polishing. The damaged surface is nickel-plated before further treatment.
