[origin: EP1298625A1] The separation between vehicles is controlled using two regimes, with transition between regimes determined by the measured vehicle speed (16). At higher speeds the separation control (24,26) operates on accelerator (20) and brake (22) to control separation, while at low speeds the separation control operates only on the brake.
