Abstract (en)

A knitwear garment design and adaptation process operates in conjunction with a flatbed knitting machine which produces a front panel and a rear panel which are joined together as a hose, subsequently joined to sleeves. <??>An Independent claim is also included for a combined computer- aided design system, flatbed knitting machine and a hose knitting machine. The design sequence commences with the generation of a pattern, definition of the contours and their association with the components, linking of the contours with respect to adjacent components, transfer of the contour to the pattern, presentation of the pattern, and conversion of the data into automated knitting commands.
