[origin: EP1300594A1] A submersible pump for waste water has a centrifugal pump with support feet to stand on the bottom of a sump, and powered by an electric motor on top of the pump. The water intake is centrally under the pump and is fitted with a rotating cutting disc to shred any solids. The disc is accessible without having to dismantle the pump housing. It can be fitted using a bayonet coupling or is fitted with a thread which self tightens when the pump operates.
