Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0208545A2] An article storing and retrieving system particularly useful as a vehicle parking building includes a multi-level supporting structure in which each level has a rotatable horizontal platform defining a plurality of storage spaces arranged in a circular array around a central axis common to all the levels. The system further includes elevators extending vertically adjacent to the supporting structure at different locations on the outer periphery of the circular arrays of storage spaces in the levels to enable each elevator to selectively communicate with a plurality of the storage spaces of each rotatable platform according to the rotary position of the platform with respect to the elevator, thereby horizontally moving an assigned parking space towards the vehicle while the vehicle is moving vertically to the assigned level.
