[origin: EP1302255A1] Radial press comprises a base body (1), a pressure ring (2), an abutment (5) fixed to the base body, and a number of press jaws (4) concentrically arranged about a press axis. The pressure ring acting on the press jaws via wedge surfaces is moved along the press axis relative to the base body on the action of an annular hydraulic piston/cylinder arrangement. The press jaws are supported on the abutment so that they move in a radial direction. The hydraulic piston/cylinder arrangement consists of an annular piston (13) inserted in an annular cylinder (14). The abutment is connected to the base body via connecting rods (8) arranged radially within the piston cylinder arrangement. Preferred Features: The pressure ring is axially guided on at least one part of the connecting rods. The annular piston is assigned to the base body and the annular cylinder to the pressure ring.
