[origin: EP1302427A1] A thread splicing assembly (10) has a splice channel with a compressed air inlet. The assembly has esp. two rotating prisms (27, 28) which each turn from a thread pick-up presentation to a splice presentation. Together the two prisms form a splice passage (44). <??>One or both of the prisms has a compressed air inlet (42). The prisms are pref. identical. Each prism has an air distribution passage from which two compressed air inlets branch off and enter the splice passage at a tangent. Each prism has a detachable cover (30) with a convex seal interface seal and an air connector. The prisms are driven by a step motor (27, 28) linked to a computer.
