[origin: WO0202118A1] A method of treating a patient suffering from peripheral vascular disease, peripheral neuropathies, or autonomic neuropathies by administering a cGMP PDE5 inhibitor such as sildenafil. The method is particularly applicable to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, Raynaud's Phenomenon, CREST Syndrome, erythromatosis, rheumatoid diseases, diabetic retinopathies and onychiomycosis. According to the present invention, a cGMP PDE5 inhibitor may be administered as a prophylactic to patients predisposed to develop a peripheral vascular disease, peripheral neuropathy or autonomic neuropathy.
