[origin: WO0208555A1] The invention relates to an operating device for heavy covers (10), in particular a door opening and closing device for armoured vehicle doors, with at least one operating piece (30) which, on release, effects a door displacement. The operating piece (30) co-operates with at least one transducer element (32) in such a way that on operating the operating piece (30), the respective transducer element (32) controls a fluid circuit by means of a valve control unit (20), which sets a drive unit (18) for the door (10) in operation. The operating device may be operated from a central position by hand in such a way that even the heaviest of doors, in particular, on armoured vehicles may be swiftly and reliably opened and closed.
