Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0207149A1] The invention relates to a method for concealing transmission errors in digital audio data. The inventive method is used to initialise an error concealment with starting values, said error concealment being then adapted by receiver quality which is determined on the basis of the currently received digital audio data. The error concealment is carried out according to channel decoding, by equalising the audio spectrum. The starting values are calculated either on the basis of the currently calculated receiver quality or receiver quality from a pre-set audio channel. In addition, the channel error protection level of both audio channels is compared. The receiver quality is determined by the bit error rate, and/or the number of scale factor errors, and/or the number of check sum errors. The pre-set audio channel can also be an FM audio channel. The storage time for the amount of transmission errors in the pre-set audio channel is taken into account during the initialisation of the error concealment.
