Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1306591A2] The sealing joint (1) for a gas turbine engine slides around the rotational axis of one component (6) to seal against another (11). The seal has a pair of lips (4,5) mounted on a rim (3) which can deflect to modify the play between the corresponding seal lip and the second component (11). The pressure in an intermediate cavity (18) balances the forces on the seal.
