[origin: WO0193889A2] The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of skin disorders comprising as active ingredient VIP-related peptides. It has been shown by the present invention that the compositions disclosed and claimed induce cell apoptosis and therefore may be used particularly for the treatment of skin disorders associated with hyperproliferation of skin cells. The present invention also provides a method for the treatment of hyperproliferative skin disorders and/or for inducing cell apoptosis, the method involving administration to the skin area to be treated a therapeutically effective amount of the VIP-related peptide.
