[origin: WO0212866A1] The invention relates to a method for detecting a substance or substances in a sample or in a matrix of samples by combining detection methods based on direct detection with integrated optical (bio)chemosensitive waveguide grating structures and mass spectrometric detection with a desorption process. The inventive method increases both detection reliability and detection sensitivity.
