Said index contains a detectable start signal (VPS) and is assigned a transmission identification (29). The invention also relates to a method for playing back a multi-media signal (6) of this type. Said method comprises the following: accessing an Internet server (14) by inputting the transmission identification (29); obtaining a playback index (13) for the multi-media signal (6) from the Internet server (14); and addressing the medium (7) with the playback index (13) in order to play back the multi-media signal (6) in accordance with the playback index (13), the latter (13) being based on the instant of the start signal (VPS).
