[origin: EP1308104A2] The lacing system has a lace (4) criss-crossing the front opening of the liner as it passes through loops (5, 6, 7, 8, 15, 17) on either side, including two loops (15, 17) connected to flaps (11, 12) that pass across the wearer's foot. Each flap has two ends, one attached to one side of the liner and the other fitted with the loop, so that the lace pulls the flap tight across the foot from the opposite direction when tensioned.
