[origin: EP1308276A1] A drying system for duplex printed sheets has an endless band transporter clad with a porous textile band and driven by a chain drive between two tensioning rollers. The sheets are dragged through the drying zone by grips attached to the endless band, which moves at the same speed as the paper feed. The drying is provided by air blowers and thermal driers above the sheet feed and by air blowers from inside the endless band drive, which blow air onto the underside of the sheets via angled slots.
