[origin: EP1308546A1] The cloth is moved away from a beat-up edge (30) with a drive roller (6) after regulating the position of a bar (43) relative to the deflection edges (441,442) such that symmetrical forces act on the upper and lower cloth layers (1,2). The cloth in a temple arrangement (4) is pulled against frictional resistances through a gap (440) and is simultaneously stretched by the lateral temples (45) along the transverse direction. <??>An Independent claim is also included for usage of weaving method.
