[origin: WO0211598A1] The invention relates to a telescopic tube containing several tubular components which can be inserted into each other. The invention enables a desired storage length or usage length of the inventive telescopic tube to be adjusted in a very simple manner by providing a base tube (6) in addition to components (8 and 9) of the telescopic tube. The corresponding tubular component (8) of the telescopic tube can be inserted into the base tube and a locking device ( 20,21 ) holds the telescopic tube in an extended position in relation to the base tube (6). Said locking device can be released in order to enable the telescopic tube to be inserted into the base tube (6).
