Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0216736A1] The invention relates to a tunneling method according to which a slot is made on the working face in the ground such that it advances while encircling the tunnel periphery. A supporting layer, which is made of a hardened material and which encircles the tunnel periphery, is formed inside said slot, whereby material is then excavated from the working face. A formwork element is slid inside the slot in order to hold the material while it hardens. A formwork element (13) for casing and bearing a supporting layer (10) in the tunnel construction can be displaceably fastened to a supporting frame (40). A formwork system has a number of these formwork elements and a supporting frame (40), to which the formwork elements are displaceably fastened. A tunneling machine has a tool (12, 70), which excavates a slot (15), said slot encircling the tunnel periphery, on the working face (14) in the ground (17), and which is displaceably fastened to a supporting frame (71) and automatically guided by a control (72) along the desired course. The machine can comprise a formwork system, whereby the supporting frame (71) of the tunneling machine is also that (40) of the formwork system.
