[origin: EP1312528A1] The base group for a coach body, and especially railway rolling stock, has at least one base plate (1) and a section (2) for the wheel boxes (2.1). The base plate and wheel box sections are in a one-piece casting (A) or are formed from an edged or hydro-shaped sheet plate. The casting has lateral carriers (3) at the ends, for the wagon linkages, and side carriers (4) as the lower components of the wagon side walls, together with holders (4.1,4.2) for secondary springs and/or vertical dampers.
