Abstract (en)

[origin: DE10008610A1] The sliver drawing unit (1), for a spinner, has a suction unit (25) on the opposite side of the sliver transport carrier (15) to the sliver (2) with a facing shrouding (40) at the suction opening (22). The shrouding (40) is a profile through a number of spinning stations, fitted to the machine frame under the drafting plane. A number of shrouding units (40) can be assembled together in sections to cover more than four spinning stations. The ends of the shrouding sections (40) are mounted to the bearing mountings of the lower drawing rollers, each with a counter profile to hold the ends of the shrouding (40). The shrouding (40) profile cross section is in a T-shape, V-shape or a polygon shape. The surface of the shrouding (40), opposite the suction opening (22), matches the contour of the suction shoe (26). The facing surface of the shrouding is hollow with a cambered running surface of the suction shoe. A shrouding with a large surface is mounted directly to the suction unit (25). The shrouding has a section which is open outwards, covered by sprung tongues with a closing profile at one end of them which closes the opening at the shrouding.
