[origin: EP1312883A2] Device for closing the bottom tapping of a metallurgical vessel has a plunger (11a) which moves on an axis (11c) aligned with the tapping hole (7) using a wagon (12) horizontally moving in several stations. Granules are inserted under pressure into wagons through the cylinder (11b) of the plunger. <??>Preferred Features: The cylinder is height-adjustable so that it is able to press against a closing plate (8). A first station (14a) fills the cylinder with granules, a second station (14b) coats the granules with a binder (16), and a third station (14c) heats the binder up to sintering.
