[origin: WO0218396A1] Amifostine-monohydrate can be reproducibly manufactured by the following method: an aqueous solution of amifostine, with a concentration of between 10 and 60 wt.- % (in relation to the anhydrous substance) is continuously added to a surplus of methanol that is between 2 and 20 times greater, over a period of between 2 and 20 minutes. A dosage form containing crystalline, sterile amifostine-monohydrate remains thermally stable at 20 DEG C for a period of at least 6 months.
