Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1314513A2] The glass panel edges are trimmed using grinding discs (22) with rotation axes lying in parallel planes, the distance between these planes being less than the diameter of one of the discs. These planes also intersect at right angles with the vector for the relative movement between the grinding head and glass panel (3) during trimming. <??>The trimming machine comprises a frame (1) with a horizontal conveyor (2) for transporting the panels in a standing position, a support device (4) above the conveyor for the panels to lean against, a follower device (11-14) for the glass panels located above the conveyor and driven in synchronism with it, and at least one grinding head which can be moved up and down a vertical guide (10). Each grinding head has two grinding tools with grinding surfaces lying in intersecting planes. The grinding surfaces intersect with a straight line extending parallel to the conveyor machine direction (9).
