[origin: EP1314515A2] A box-shaped jaw (58) with an essentially flat contact surface (74) for the workpiece is provided on the sliding bracket (24) and it can be slid onto the press piece (36) for the bracket. The jaw contains at least two spaced apart guide cavities (88, 90) via which it is adjustably mounted on the guide rail (12). <??>The screw clamp comprises a guide rail with a fixed cross-bracket (26) and a sliding bracket which can be tilted relative to the rail. A spindle (38) with a press piece (36) is movably connected to the sliding bracket and used to fix an object against the fixed bracket.
