Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1314941A2] Apparatus for producing nitrogen from air comprises a turbo-compressor (2) having pinions (2a, 2d); an air purifying unit (3); a heat exchanger (5); a rectification column (6) consisting of rectifying devices (6a, 6b) and a sump evaporator (7); and a super-condenser (8). The components are joined together by a pipe system having measuring, controlling and regulating devices. <??>An Independent claim is also included for a process for producing nitrogen from air. Preferred Features: The heat exchanger, rectification column and super-condenser are arranged in a deep-cooled insulated cold box (18).
