[origin: WO0211076A1] The invention relates to a system and method for operation-integrated identification of a user. The user identification is made during actions that the user would normally have to perform in order to use the devices. The user data required for the identification are transmitted through the body of the user from a user-end terminal to a user identification system by the user touching a touch-sensitive user interface, said system than checking the user data that are transmitted. If the user data check is successful, indicating that the current user is authorised, a release signal is produced. In response to the release signal, a release device unblocks access to corresponding devices connected downstream. If the user data check indicates that the user is not an authorised user, a block signal is produced to control the release device in such a way that the latter blocks access to the devices connected downstream. The functioning and operativeness of the system for identifying a user is tested by operating the system in a test mode, whereby user data are used to produce a user data test signal through a second touch-sensitive user interface.
