According to the invention, proprietary signalings are transmitted between a terminal, which transmits proprietary signalings and is connected to a conventional first switching center (switching center that does not support the proprietary signaling), and a second switching center, which supports the proprietary signaling, while being tunneled over a first useful data channel, i.e. the data for conducting the proprietary signaling via a first useful data channel (e.g. ISDN B-channel) are transmitted over the telecommunications network between the terminal and the second switching center.
