Abstract (en)
A process extracts ultra-pure liquid nitrogen from less pure liquid nitrogen. A feed of less pure nitrogen (6) is drawn from a reservoir and piped to a first separator column (7) which surrenders a first feed of ultra-pure nitrogen (14). An impure fraction (17) is drawn from the column (7) and piped into a second separator column (8). A second fraction (19) of ultra-pure nitrogen is drawn from the second column (8). <??>An Independent claim is also included for a commensurate assembly in which the two columns (7, 8) are linked by a condenser-evaporator (9) operating as a heat exchanger. A gaseous pure nitrogen fraction (11) is drawn from the first column (7) head and is liquefied (12) in the condenser-evaporator (9) as ultra-pure product (14). Some of the fluid (12) formed in the condenser-evaporator (9) is returned (16) to the second column (8). The first less pure (6) supply of nitrogen is introduced to the column (7) in liquid form; a second supply (10) of less pure nitrogen is introduced to the first column (7) in gaseous form. Liquid nitrogen from the first column (7) is evaporated by a heater (28). A further feed (2) of less pure nitrogen is drawn from the reservoir (1) in liquid form, evaporated (3) under pressure and returned (4) to the reservoir (1). The reservoir is initially charged under pressure from an external source.

Das Verfahren und die Vorrichtung dienen zur Herstellung hoch reinen Stickstoffs aus weniger reinem Stickstoff. Ein erster Strom (6) weniger reinen Stickstoffs wird in eine erste Trennsäule (7) eingeleitet. Der ersten Trennsäule wird ein erstes hoch reines Stickstoffprodukt (14) entnommen. Eine Unreinfraktion (17) wird aus der ersten Trennsäule (7) abgezogen und in eine zweite Trennsäule (8) eingeleitet. Der zweiten Trennsäule wird ein zweites hoch reines Stickstoffprodukt (19) entnommen. <IMAGE>
