Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0220036A1] The invention relates to a medicament containing an RNA-binding protein KOC or a DNA sequence that codes this protein. The invention also relates to a diagnostic method with regard to tumors associated with expression of KOC, and to different applications of the inventive medicament, preferably for artificially inducing the pluripotentiality of body cells. The invention additionally relates to a DNA sequence of the KOC promoter, whereby the KOC promoter is characterized in that it is only activated in embryonic tissues or malignant tumors, and, finally, relates to different applications of the KOC promoter.
