[origin: WO0220093A1] The invention relates to a trailer, which can be pulled by a conventional towing unit, for example, a tractor, in particular with regard to the reliable application thereof in the case of fire and also relates to an improved application of the fire engine trailer. According to the invention a protection device is provided, which effectively protects the operating personnel on operating the fire engine trailer and, furthermore, guarantees the opportunity to rescue persons from the scene of a fire. The fire engine trailer with a personnel protection device comprises essentially two containers, one of which is provided for holding a fire extinguishing/cooling medium, preferably water, a water discharging device is provided preferably in the form of a spraying device, by means of which the extinguishing agent/coolant can be discharged from the tank in such a way that the trailer is constantly sprayed with water, at least in the region where personnel are accommodated.
