Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0220961A1] The invention relates to a method for determining the fuel content of a regeneration gas during the regeneration of a fuel vapour accumulator in internal combustion engines with direct fuel-injection and a lean-burn operation (shift operation). According to said method, the stored fuel vapour is fed to the internal combustion engine as a regeneration gas by means of a controllable canister-purge valve and the signal of an exhaust gas probe in the exhaust gas of said engine is taken into consideration for determining the fuel content of the regeneration gas. When the canister-purge valve is closed, the signal of the exhaust gas probe is compared with a predetermined desired value and the signal of the exhaust gas probe is linked to a corrective value in such a way that the result of the link corresponds to the desired value. When the canister-purge valve is open, the signal of the exhaust gas probe is linked to the previously obtained corrective value in the same way. The resorption of the regeneration gas is determined from the result of the link.
