The optical waveguide socket (1) has a socket housing (2), which comprises a receiving space (5) for accommodating an assigned optical waveguide plug (50), and has a locking device (7) for locking the optical waveguide plug (50) accommodated inside the receiving space (5). Said locking device (7) is provided with an electrically conductive section, which is in physical contact with an electrically conductive counterpart (60) of the inserted optical waveguide plug (50) while establishing an electrical contact. The optical waveguide socket (1) is additionally provided with a connecting piece (21), which is connected in an electrically conductive manner to the electrically conductive section of the locking device (7), and which is laterally guided out of the socket housing (2). According to the optical waveguide socket assembly, the optical waveguide socket (1) is arranged on a printed circuit board (38) comprising an electrically conductive contact section (65) that is in physical contact with the part of the connecting piece (21) projecting from the socket housing (2) while establishing an electrical contact.
