The adjustable sofa has a fixed frame section and a movable pivoting section connected by a pivoting linkage. The pivot assembly (16) has a sliding guide (26) for the movable section, to allow the latter to be moved to a spaced position with respect to the fixed section. The slide guide is curved to allow the movable section to be raised as it is moved away from the fixed section.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Schwenkmechanik (16) für ein Sofa (10), welches ein gegenüber einem feststehenden Sofateil (12) um beispielsweise 90 Grad schwenkbares Sofateil (14) aufweist. Die Erfindung schlägt vor, die Schwenkmechanik (16) mit einem Schwenkgelenk (18) und einer seitlich abstehenden Bogenführung (26) für das bewegbare Sofateil (14) auszubilden. Wird das bewegbare Sofateil (14) zum Verschwenken entlang der Bogenführung (26) vom feststehenden Sofateil (12) entfernt, hebt die Bogenführung (26) das bewegbare Sofateil (14) an, so dass es frei schwenkbar ist. <IMAGE>
