Abstract (en)
The assembly (1) to polish the surface of a paper or cardboard web has a heated polishing cylinder (2), and a running path for the web (5) around the major part of the cylinder surface. A shoe roller (11,11a,11b,18) is at a given segment of the cylinder circumference, each with a flexible recirculating mantle (12), pressed against the cylinder by a support shoe structure (14). The mantles form a wide nip (17,20) for the web against the cylinder. A vapor extraction zone (22) is after each nip, and a heater (21) is in front of the first nip to heat the belt (19) of the first shoe unit.

Es wird eine Glättzylinderanordnung (1) angegeben mit einem beheizten Glättzylinder (2) und einem Bahnlaufpfad für eine Bahn (5) aus Faserstoff, insbesondere eine Papier- oder Kartonbahn, in dem die Bahn (5) auf der Oberfläche des Glättzylinders (2) aufliegt und ihn über einen großen Teil seines Umfangs umschlingt. Man möchte die Arbeitsgeschwindigkeit dieser Anordnung erhöhen. Hierzu liegt eine Schuhwalze (11, 11a, 11b, 18) in einem vorbestimmten Umfangsabschnitt am Glättzylinder (2) an, die einen umlaufenden, flexiblen Mantel (12) aufweist, der unter der Wirkung einer Stützschuhanordnung (14) gegen den Glättzylinder (2) gepreßt ist und mit dem Glättzylinder (2) einen Breitnip (17, 20) bildet. <IMAGE>
