Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1318359A2] A rectangular-sectioned housing (1) contains a flap (2) mounted on an angled axle (15) on the housing walls (4) against the shorter rectangular sides. The flap is held in a position by a spring element (21) more or less closing the flow-cross-section against the force exerted on it by the flow. One arm of the flap is parallel with the pipe's axis in an open position; the other arm (51) is at right angles to it, in a closed position. The housing walls (5) against the longer rectangular sides curve into the flow by means of multiple flat tilting.
