The method involves compressing several audio signals with a conventional compression technique by combining sound sources similar to a sound field and selecting compression factors so that the maximum permitted data rate is not exceeded. Abstract (de)
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Kodierung von Audiosignalen. Die zu einem Klangfeld gehörenden Klangquellen werden zuerst einzeln mit einem herkömmlichen Kompressionsverfahren komprimiert. Wird die maximal erlaubten Datenrate überschritten so erfolgt eine Zusammenfassung von Klangquellen und anschließende neue Kompression oder eine neue Kompression mit stärkerem Kompressionsfaktor. Jeder dieser Klangquellen wird eine Positionsinformation und Informationen über die Quelle zugeordnet. Informationen über die Eigenschaften des nachzubildenden Raumes sowie Informationen über die aktuellen horizontalen und vertikalen Sichtwinkel werden in den erzeugten Datenstrom eingefügt. Im Wiedergabegerät wird die Größe und Position der Bildprojektion ausgewertet und basierend darauf und auf den anderen Parametern eine Abbildung der Klangquellen auf die vorhandenen Lautsprecher durchgeführt.
