[origin: EP1318573A1] The socket (10) and plug (12) of the coaxial plug connector have each an inner (14,18) and outer conductor (16,20). The mechanical connection of plug and socket is carried out by an engagement mechanism, when plugged home. The coaxial connector has a maximum spacing (30) between the outer conductors with plug and socket driven home and the engagement mechanism locked. The dimensions of the plug and/or socket guarantee the characteristic for the quality impedance matching in dependence on specified spacing.
