[origin: WO0214029A1] The invention relates to a battery operated electric tool (10) provided with a machine housing (11), which comprises a long approximately rod-shaped housing part (12) with an electric drive motor (13) contained therein and with an end part (15) on which a connecting face (16) situated at the end and having a plug-in receptacle (17) for exchangeably attaching a battery pack (14) is provided. Said battery pack is provided with a connecting part (18) which, for placing against the connecting face (16), comprises a bearing surface (19) assigned thereto and a plug-in part (20) that engages inside the plug-in receptacle (17). The end part (15) is bent with regard to the housing part (12) from the longitudinal direction of extension toward one side. The connecting face (16), which is situated at the end, of the end part (15) extends inside a plane (21) that is slanted with regard to a plane (22) extending in an approximately orthogonal manner with regard to the longitudinal axis (23) of the housing part (12).
