[origin: WO0224457A1] A printer drive system comprising at least two pairs (02, 03, 04, 06) consisting of a form cylinder (07, 09, 12, 14) and a transfer cylinder (08, 11, 13, 16), respectively, and at least one satellite cylinder (17), has a switchable mechanical coupling (32) between the form cylinder and the associated transfer cylinder. Each pair is driven by a common drive motor (19, 21, 22, 23). At least two of the transfer cylinders can be brought into a first position for rubber-on-rubber operation or into a second position for rubber-on-steel operation. The pivotable transfer cylinder is driven by means of a pinion (28) with a rotational axis that is fixed in relation to the frame.
