Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0217242A1] The invention relates to a security system, particularly for valuable documents, wherein a security element is provided in a support plane, used to reconstruct a pattern under incident light on a holographic path outside the support plane, hidden information is recorded in said pattern, and a flat, transparent verification element is provided whereby said verification element enables information stored in the security element to be read out when flat contact occurs. The invention also relates to a security element and a verification element for use in the security system, and to a valuable document which is endowed with the security system. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device and method for reading the hidden information which is holographically stored in the reconstructed pattern when incident light falls on the security element.
